Lessons and Supplies

Pirate Ships at Sea
Ahoy matey! In this lessons, Pirates, er, I mean, artists...will be pillaging paper stacks to create a great sea vessel. If you joined us for Painting without Brushes all that great textured painted paper is perfect. If you are joining us for the first time, grab some magazines you can tear up or a stack of patterned scrapbook paper. We will use some of our textured, painted paper, toilet paper tubes, glue, and markers or crayons, and maybe even some paint to create a pirate ship sailing at sea.

Bird Stacks
Use paint (tempera or watercolor), paper, and pastels to create a stack of artsy birds! Our artwork will be vertical and they'll need a sturdy canvas or cardboard to build on. You'll need cereal box, glue, scissors, scrapbook paper, paint, and oil pastels.

Can you be-leaf it?
We will use tissue paper, construction paper, scrapbook paper, or even magazines if you have some that are ok to cut up, to make a beautiful fall leaf collage. You'll need a variety of paper scraps, some glue or mod podge, and scissors. Don't forget to have a wet wipe nearby for gluey fingers.  Supplies needed: Any kind of colorful paper (tissue paper, construction paper, scrapbook paper, magazines), glue or modpodge, scissors

Mixed Media Portraits
In this class, artists will use one of our favorite combinations of art supplies: sharpies, watercolors, and oil pastels (or crayons). Artists will start with a line drawing in Sharpie and then add oil pastel and watercolor details.

Spooky Paper Collage

Final details will be added with markers.  Supplies needed: Heavy-duty art paper, scissors, glue or glue sticks, collage paper (can be scrapbook paper, construction paper, newspaper, magazines, etc)
